Call of Duty fans are eager to know just what to expect from this years release, but it looks like there might be no new release at all.
According to leaker ‘TheMW2Ghost’ there is currently no concrete date for the release of the latest instalment in the Call of Duty series which has been named Vanguard.

TheMW2Ghost took to Twitter to share the information with fans eager to know the fate of the upcoming title.
The Tweet read “Got the green light to share this: There is STILL no certain release date for Vanguard. This is the latest that a firm decision hasn’t been made about the release, and it is *possible* that we won’t see Vanguard this year.”

They also went on to suggest that this could be due to Activision focusing on a “revamp” for MW19 or perhaps an influx in content. There is also leaks that suggest we could get Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer this year instead.

Modern Warfare has recently just seen the addition of 3 extra maps out of the blue with no prior explanation, however two of these maps were suddenly removed from the title as quickly as they had been added with no warning.
Insider Tom Henderson had also Tweeted about the upcoming Vanguard title branding it a “disaster”. He also went on to say in another Tweet that the game could be held back due to older consoles.

Activision are yet to make an announcement or confirm anything regarding a 2021 Call of Duty title with its main focus currently being Call of Duty: Warzone and Call of Duty: Mobile.
Of course, we must take all of this information with a pinch of salt, fans will have to hang on to see what is in store for the future of Call of Duty.
