Leak Claims Resident Evil 9 is Already in Development

A know Resident Evil leaker has recently revelead that Resident Evil 9 is in the works, and development is already in full swing.

Horror fans will soon be able to take on the long awaited title Resident Evil Village, long standing fans of the franchise have been waiting eagerly for this anticipated release. Although now it seems that Capcom already have a Resident Evil 9 in the works according to a recent leak.

Leaker ‘AestheticGamer1’ who has been a reliable source for Resident Evil news previously took to Twitter to share the news that Capcom are actually already working on a Resident Evil 9, despite its predecessor Resident Evil Village not even being released yet.

Resident Evil Village is due to launch on May 7th along with Resident Evil Re: Verse multiplayer experience. Apart from those there is no further titles that have been announced officially, so fans have no choice but to rely on leaks and rumours to see what may be in store for the future.

It’s likely that if a Resident Evil 9 is in production it still could be a number of years before we actually see it launch, AestheticGamer went on to say “Yes, but don’t expect it anytime soon. I literally cannot see it releasing before 2024. To the point it’s actually not worth even talking about right now, anything could happen to it in dev, from the whole thing being rebooted (it’s happened a lot in the RE series).”

There has also been other leaks circulating regarding a further Resident Evil game to be released later this year for Nintendo Switch, rumour has is that this titles featured protagonist will be Rebecca Chambers although we are still waiting to see if this will actually be the case.

Hopefully a release date of later this year will prove to be true, this way fans will be able to get the answers they’ve been looking for.

Another leak has speculated that we could see yet another Resident Evil game launch in 2022 which will be a a Resident Evil 4 remake, however sources have claimed that due to some alleged disagreements this title could be delayed to 2023.

Of course, we should take these leaks with a pinch of salt, with nothing confirmed officially at the moment it’s hard to say exactly what we can expect. Although, one thing is for sure, fans will be able to kick back and play Resident Evil Villager from May 7th.
