A Japanese retailer, Nojima Denki has taken a step further in the battle to stop PlayStation 5 scalpers.
Nojima Denki has thought of a new way to put a stop to PS5 scalpers, they are now writing the full name of anyone who purchases a PS5 on the box.
Youtube Gaijin Hunter recently took to Twitter to share a viral Tweet from user ‘Kaz_kun’ stating Nojima Denki “will write your full name on the box at time of purchase, and open/dispose of the [DualSense] controller box as well”.

The post read “LOL wow. Nojima Denki shop is so hardcore about not letting resellers get their PS5 stock they say they will write your full name on the box at time of purchase, and open/dispose of the dual shock controller box as well.”
In a response to their earlier Tweet, ‘Kaz_kun’ said “By the way, it seems that the name is written on both felt-tip pens and ballpoint pens. With a ballpoint pen, it seems that handwriting will remain … Let’s get crowded, which seems to hate resellers.” according to Twitters translation.
Therefore even if someone was able to manage to remove the ink itself, the indentation from the pen would remain making selling on a nightmare for scalpers.
This means if any scalper plans on buying the consoles from Nojima Denki, they will forever have their name written on the box, this will also be their real name as the store will probably be checking IDs.
Could it be that we see more stores follow suit in a bid to stop the scalping war?
