In a climate of rising excitement and speculation, a credible insider for Rockstar Games has ignited hopes for the announcement of Grand Theft Auto 6, widely known as GTA 6. The insider, known in the community as Tez2, recently said, “Everything seems to line up for a high likelihood of Rockstar announcing VI soon. Probably in the coming months.”
Not only has Tez2 suggested that an announcement is on the horizon, but he has also outlined how it may happen. According to him, GTA Online, the multiplayer component of the franchise, could serve as a platform for the announcement. Tez2 added, “I could see a new hunt or a collectible or a random event on Cayo Perico to tease VI. It would make the most sense.” The insider has a reliable track record, adding weight to these revelations.
GTA 6 is among the most highly anticipated games, yet Rockstar has been tight-lipped about any formal details. However, leaks and rumours have indicated the possibility of revisiting Vice City and the introduction of a female protagonist, among other new gameplay elements.
Earlier this year, GTA Online featured special shirts to celebrate GTA 5’s 10th anniversary. These shirts carried messages like “One day will reveal all,” “We are watching,” and, “Connect the lines.” These cryptic hints have been subject to much interpretation and have intensified the anticipation.
Additionally, the franchise has been teasing fans with images of UFOs and aliens in previous games, notably a screenshot in GTA Trilogy that has been widely believed to be a nod to the upcoming GTA 6.
Further fuelling the fervour is the recent comment from Strauss Zelnick, the CEO of Take-Two Interactive. Zelnick hinted that GTA 6 might be released between 2024 and 2025. While this is still some way off, it makes the possibility of an official trailer appearing in the near future increasingly plausible.
