Infinity Ward Reveal 200,000 players banned

Alex KirtonBy Alex KirtonOctober 1, 2020

It has been recently announced by Infinity Ward that they have implemented yet another ban in Warzone and Modern Warfare.

The ban took place on September 30th, with over 200,000 players affected. It comes after a multitude of players using third-party cheats, this has caused huge controversy since the games release in March.

This has lead to Infinity Ward taking strict action, as players have been begging for firmer countermeasures. The game itself has been hugely popular amongst gamers causing the uprising success of the game, however players have been frustrated with cheaters.

This isn’t the first time they’ve implemented a ban either, it was also reported that Activision has targeted largely popular cheat websites that were outside of the game.

This ban wave has gone out targeting one of the most popularly used cheat websites they have revealed, devs have also confirmed that their team has successfully banned over 200,000 accounts in total.

They took to Twitter to announce the news that they had taken this measure across both Warzone and Modern Warfare.

Anti-cheat update:

Since launch, the team has banned over 200,000 accounts for cheating across #Warzone and #ModernWarfare, including a new wave this week. We are continuing to deploy additional security updates and added backend enforcement tools. Zero tolerance for cheating.

Plenty of players were glad to see this course of action finally take shape however there has been some accusations that some accounts have been falsely banned.

Infinity Ward are yet to respond to these claims of those affected, maybe gamers will think twice before cheating next time.
