Finally the game we’ve all been waiting for could be on it’s way.
With the franchise constantly growing and expanding, it’s anyones guess what we can expect to see next, although fans have had a few ideas with many calling for Modern Warfare 2 to be the game we see in 2022.
Now, it seems as if their prayers are being answered as a Modern Warfare 2 could very well be in the works.
Well known leaker Tom Henderson recently took to Twitter, sharing a post from Infinity Ward announcing a brand new team.
The post read “Infinity Ward is expanding. Excited to announce the creation of @InfinityWard Austin. This new development team based in Austin, TX, joins our teams in LA, Poland and Mexico. We’re hiring for all positions (https://careers.infinityward.com). More info to come.”
Henderson said “Infinity Ward has announced a new development team based in Austin, Texas. It looks like a lot of work is going into Modern Warfare 2 2022 (or whatever it’s called!).”
Henderson claims that the new studio to open in Austin, Texas will specifically be working on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, of course we must take this information with a pinch of salt at the moment as nothing has yet been officially confirmed.
Even if these rumours prove to be correct, there is no way to tell if the sequel would even be named Modern Warfare 2.
Interestingly enough, Henderson took to Twitter last month to share the potential name of Call of Duty 2022 after it was revealed in the huge Nvidia leak.
The post read “It looks like Call of Duty: 2022 is codenamed Project Cortez It’s expected to be a sequel to Modern Warfare 2019”.
There is no way to tell exactly what will happen in the future, it looks as though fans will just have to wait it out for an official announcement on this one.
