Infinity Ward Hints That Call of Duty 2022 May Not Come To Xbox One And PS4

Xbox One and Ps4 players could miss out on the next Call of Duty title.

There has been a lot of speculation following Microsoft’s recent acquisition of Activision Blizzard, many Call of Duty fans have been left concerned wondering if the next instalment in the franchise will become an Xbox exclusive. It looks like PlayStation players are safe for now, with Microsoft confirming that they will uphold any commitments to Sony for the next few years at least.

As if all this speculation wasn’t enough, hints from Infinity Ward are only causing even more concern for gamers.

The studio recently took to Twitter with a post reading “A new generation of Call of Duty is coming soon. Stay frosty.”

The cryptic Tweet has fans asking questions, many have taken the “Stay Frosty” as a confirmation of Modern Warfare 2. Although, we do already know that a new instalment of Modern Warfare is likely to appear, it is always good to see a potential confirmation from the studio.

The question on everybody’s lips now is whether PS4 and Xbox One players will have to opportunity to get a slice of the action. Could the mention of a “new generation” signify that we could only be seeing the future of Call of Duty on consoles with next-gen capabilities?

It looks like fans will have to wait this one out to see what is in store for the future of Call of Duty.
