The upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy title was revealed to be only a single-player experience and will not have microtransactions.
Fans were not surprised by the reveal of the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy title, the title has been in the works for some time and will be the second title in Square Enix’s huge Marvel deal.
Although fans may have expected the title to be revealed at some point, what they weren’t expecting was just how the game would actually work.
The much anticipated Guardians of the Galaxy title will be launching on the 26th October on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PC and will be a single-player experience.
The title is set to be a third-person action/adventure game with a prominent storyline, however developer Eidos Montreal has stated that the title will not have DLC or microtransactions in game.
Players can play as Peter Quill facing dialogue options allowing them to choose which Guardians will be put for sale leaving Quill to cast the final vote.
Currently it is unclear what path the storyline will take in the game but it is likely that it will feature something taking on a life of its own that has been accidentally created by the guardians.
“There isn’t going to be any DLC for this game, there isn’t going to be any microtransactions”
Senior narrative director, Mary DeMarle also said in regards to the game having no microtransations “and that’s because, for us, it’s very important that on day one, when players get this game, they can have access to everything there is about this game and experience it. So right off the bat, they can get all of the costumes or outfits that are available. They can find all the abilities as they progress through the game. It’s all there.”
Fans should expect the title to release later this year on October 26th, but in the meantime be sure to check back with us at Gamerficial for the latest news and updates.
