GTA Online’s New Update Has Annoyed A Lot Of Players

Alex KirtonBy Alex KirtonJuly 11, 2021

A new update coming to GTA Online has rubbed a lot of players the wrong way, they claim it’s more of the same from Rockstar.

Musicians are lining up to have music featured in Grand Theft Auto: Online’s radio. The radio plays the most recent tracks added to the game, meaning that millions of players will be exposed to their music when they first get in a vehicle, people who may not have found the music otherwise.

Rockstar recently announced “Monday Dreamin”, a debut album from their own CircoLoco Records. The album will be coming as a radio station in the next GTA Online update, but now players are complaining that they don’t want more club music being added to the game.

Rockstar have added a variety of music from all genres to the game, but new music added since 2013 always seems to be from the dance and house genre.

“Bro what is their obsession with adding this dance music? Nobody listens to this s**t,” Twitter user ‘GTLazlow’ said about the news. “They’ve been ignoring the Rock, Classic rock, Classic Hip Hop, and Country stations since launch. Add some variety for the love of God.”

Other players have pointed out how the new music is always the first to get played when you enter a vehicle so dance music seems to always be playing in cars.

“Oh God no,” Twitter user ‘ThatBigL’ posted. “Now this bulls**t will be preset in every vehicle instead of the cayo perico ones that suck as well.”

Bro what is their obsession with adding this dance music? Nobody listens to this shit. They've been ignoring the Rock, Classic rock, Classic Hip Hop and Country stations since launch. Add some variety for the love of God.

Despite complaints from fans, it’s very unlikely that Rockstar will change course anytime soon. After all, they have the data to find out what songs are listened to most in the game, and this could just be a case of the vocal minority speaking out.

CircoLoco Records is an official partnership between Rockstar and CircoLoco, they probably have a contract to add a certain amount of songs from the label to the game, and since Rockstar own “Monday Dreamin” they stand to make money from it so it’s in their best interest to add it to the game despite the complaints from fans.
