As the gaming community remains on edge for any news about the highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA VI), a new theory suggests that a major reveal could happen this weekend. This speculation gains weight as we approach 17 September, marking the 10th anniversary of GTA V, leading fans to wonder if Rockstar Games will use this milestone for a franchise update.
Despite announcing its development close to two years ago, Rockstar Games has been tight-lipped about GTA VI. Although there’s been no trailer, release date, or story details, rumours have filled the void. It’s speculated that the new game will take players back to Vice City and feature two characters named Jason and Lucia, inspired by the infamous crime duo Bonnie and Clyde.
Adding fuel to the fire, Bryan Zampella, a voice actor rumoured to be involved in GTA VI, recently posted an Instagram reel that included Shawn Fonteno, the voice actor for Franklin in GTA V. The reel also pointed to the date 17 September. Interestingly, the reel was later removed, leading some to speculate whether Zampella was told to take it down by Take-Two Interactive, the parent company of Rockstar Games.
Although the game’s release is not confirmed, Take-Two Interactive has hinted at a 2025 launch. The game is also expected to be available for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Meanwhile, the gaming community is engaged in debates over sensitive topics such as whether the game should allow the killing of children, a subject that is sure to continue causing controversy.
While we await official confirmation, the looming 10th anniversary of GTA V and these tantalizing hints have the gaming community highly expectant. Whether or not Rockstar Games decides to seize this significant date for a franchise update remains to be seen.
