The world of gaming has been on tenterhooks as the community eagerly awaits any news on the much-anticipated sequel to Grand Theft Auto 5, commonly known as GTA 6. But a recent Instagram Reel uploaded by Bryan Zampella, a suspected voice actor for one of GTA 6’s main characters, has reignited ongoing chatter and speculation about the game’s imminent announcement.
The reel, titled “Dead Drop,” portrays Zampella as a mercenary of sorts, dressed in an unbuttoned shirt reminiscent of Vice City’s vibe. More interestingly, the reel co-stars Shawn Fonteno, who famously voiced Franklin in GTA 5, further fuelling the speculations.
“One user asserted in the comments, ‘No doubt in my mind that GTA 6 is in that briefcase,'” referring to a mysterious briefcase that Zampella’s character carries throughout the video. The briefcase is claimed to contain “the most powerful and dangerous thing” Zampella’s character has ever encountered, although the contents are never revealed to the audience.
The reel also features a significant date: September 17. For the uninitiated, this date is nothing short of iconic—it marks the release date for GTA 5 back in 2013. Some fans are interpreting this as a sign of a potential reveal date for GTA 6.
However, the Reddit community surrounding the game has expressed skepticism. They’re not as convinced that September 17 holds any special meaning, with some even telling speculators to “GTFOH.”
This development comes after fans have gone to extremes for any snippets of information, even disrupting a stage at Gamescom. But so far, despite numerous leaks, rumors, and speculations—including the possible inclusion of Joe Rogan and a serial killer storyline—none have been confirmed by Rockstar, the game’s developer.
While fans may be divided on what to believe, all eyes will undoubtedly be on Rockstar as September 17 approaches. Given that there are no significant gaming events scheduled for that date, expectations are cautiously optimistic at best. Until then, the waiting game continues.
