One of the most tantalising rumours about GTA 6 is that the game might come equipped with a single-player DLC.
While Rockstar Games has remained somewhat mysterious about “GTA 6” specifics, numerous leaks and speculations have given fans a glimpse of what might be on the horizon. The latest buzz points to the game possibly offering a unique single-player downloadable content (DLC).
The timing of the game’s official reveal remains a topic of speculation. Many fans are looking towards the upcoming earnings announcement by Take-Two Interactive, Rockstar’s parent company, as a possible hint. This anticipation has been fueled further by Take-Two’s recent financial projections. They expect a significant increase in revenue between April 2024 and March 2025, and many believe this surge could be attributed to “GTA 6” hitting the market.
Although Take-Two hasn’t directly confirmed these speculations, they have hinted at launching major titles within the aforementioned timeframe. This keeps hopes high among the gaming community.
A notable voice in the “GTA” community, known as Tez2, recently shared some insights on the GTAForums. He indicated that Rockstar has plans for multiple expansions for “GTA 6.” He mentioned:
“Rockstar had episodic content, aka SP DLC, planned for V way before release. Plans changed around mid to late 2014. You may have heard of the three episodes they were planning, but there was more too. The point is Rockstar was going with the same plan they had for IV. GTAO booming was unexpected. Now, for VI, it’s different. It won’t be unexpected. And from what we’ve heard and what Jason Schreier said, Rockstar is already going with the same plan before. Episodic content with new map updates and expansions. Which would help reduce crunch. So I think we are gonna see SP updates as frequent as online updates. And the first major DLC within a year or two from launch.”
Some fans suggest that parts of “GTA 6” were set aside during its development phase to ensure a smoother and quicker release. Interestingly, this content could make a comeback in the form of the speculated single-player DLC.
Looking ahead, there’s a possibility of introducing brand-new cities and locales in “GTA 6,” which could provide players with fresh adventures and challenges. While “GTA 7” might be a distant dream,
