A recent rating for the yet-to-be-unveiled GTA 6 suggests it aligns with older games in the series, like GTA: Vice City and San Andreas. The rating comes from the Australian Classification Board and is dated April 2nd of the current year. However, there are no earlier web records to provide further context.
Interestingly, the game has been given an MA 15+ rating in Australia, which matches the rating for older GTA titles such as GTA IV, Vice City, and San Andreas. This is noteworthy because the most recent game, GTA V, was rated 18+ in 2013, making it the first in the series to receive this higher rating due to new Australian guidelines that year. One might have expected any follow-up to GTA V to also get an 18+ rating.
Though Rockstar has yet to formally announce GTA 6, speculation suggests an announcement could come later this year. Last month, Take-Two Interactive, Rockstar’s parent company, hinted that the game might be released by March 2025, based on updated projections. During an investor call, Take-Two’s CFO, Lainie Goldstein, thanked stakeholders and expressed optimism about the company hitting new performance milestones in the near future.
