GTA 3, San Andreas and Vice City Remaster Collection Possibly In Development

Alex KirtonBy Alex KirtonJanuary 26, 20212 Comments2 Mins Read

Rockstar aren’t the type of studio to visit their old games with remasters or remakes, fans have been talking about and asking Rockstar for remasters of their old games for years to no avail.

Now, rumours are suggesting that the studio are planning a remaster collection containing GTA 3, Vice City, and San Andreas. Although unlikely that these three games would be released in the same package, posts on the GTA forums have teased that they in fact might.

GTABase explained that a post on the GTA Forums by user and insider Mach1Bud wrote the word “soon” on what was, on the surface of it an innocent thread.

Not long after, another user named WildBrick142 said that Mach was leaking information in the wrong thread, to which Mach responded saying it was intentionally the wrong thread, and that if he’d teased in the correct thread it would have been too obvious. The thread was tagged ‘GTA III’, ‘GTA VC’ and ‘GTA SA’.

This is where Mach’s posts start to get a little bit cryptic. Mach talks about how he’ll be getting his “truck: in the next 90 days, and that he’ll be getting a “trailer” for it soon. He also says it will have plenty of power with it’s new engine. Fans are assuming he isn’t talking about his truck, and is in fact using jargon that applies to both vehicles and video games.

It’s unclear if these two cryptic posts are connected, or even if they’re real at all, so its wise to take this information with a pinch of salt. The GTA forum users have got things wrong in the past, and Rockstar have a track record of being against remasters, but they did bring back Grand Theft Auto 3 to iOS on it’s 10th anniversary and this year will be its 20th anniversary.
