A remaster of GTA V will be headed to PS5 later this year, it has recently been confirmed by Take-Two’s CEO that this remaster will be ‘more than a simple port’.
You’ve probably already heard the exciting news that a GTA V remaster will be coming to PS5 in the latter half of 2021, what’s even more exciting is that it was recently confirmed by Take-Two’s CEO Strauss Zelnick that this will be no ordinary remaster. The new game will have some new remake elements to it in order to take full advantage of PS5’s next-gen features.
Of course, we can expect to see an all improved upgrade on visuals along with better technology and tonnes of performance enhancements. This is what Zelnick had to say “ we don’t just port titles over, we actually take the time to do the very best job we can making the title different for the new release, for the new technology that we’re launching it on.”
He also went on to say “So, we improve the technology, we upgrade the visuals, and we make performance enhancements. And that’s why I think our remastered titles typically do so well.”
Fans are already excited for this remaster and looking into what they can expect, with many already questioning if it will look as good as Red Dead Redemption 2. As both games use the RAGE engine it would make sense that a GTA V remaster could look something similar to what we have seen in RD2, although it has been rumoured that GTA Online for PS5 is already going to be using the same advance version of the RAGE engine.
Of course, the question of when we will see GTA 6 still hangs in the balance with fans searching the internet for clues as to when we may be seeing this title emerge, but with no official reports or announcement on the long awaited title, fans have no choice but to rely on leaks and rumours to get their fix of much needed information.
When asked about a possible GTA 6, Zelnick also had this to say “So, Rockstar hasn’t announced any new titles for the market and when there’s an announcement to be made, it will come from Rockstar, so I’ll probably leave you there, and I don’t think you would have expected anything different from me.”
So, it looks as though fans will have to hold out for GTA 6 but in the mean time they will be able to get their GTA fix with a spicy new GTA V remaster headed to our consoles in the later part of this year.
