It has recently been announced that the next-gen version of Grand Theft Auto has been delayed until 2022.
Rockstar Games had initially schedule to release Grand Theft Auto 5 expanded and enhanced later this year on November 11 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S.
GTA fans had been waiting in anticipation for the upcoming release until recently it was revealed at the PlayStation Showcase that the title would be delayed until March 2022.
GTA 5 was released back in 2014 and shot from strength to strength and has continued to be extremely popular with fans ever since, so it was no surprise players were excited to see the title return with upgraded 4K visuals.
Even today, millions of players are taking to the world of Grand Theft Auto Online for a piece of the action with the developers issuing regular content updates.
Now, it seems that Rockstar have made the decision to delay the next-gen version of GTA 5, however it has left fans less than impressed.
Geoff Keighley took to Twitter to share the news, the post read “Confirmed that the next-generation version of Grand Theft Auto V, previously scheduled for November 11, will now be released in March 2022.”
Hundreds of players were quick to reply with their concerns, many calling them out for the delay as they feel not much has actually changed in the game.
One user said “Why? Looks like they added nothing at all”, another said “GTA is getting the Skyrim treatment, No sequels just release after re-release”.
It is safe to say that players were definitely not happy with this delay, but in the meantime be sure to check back with us at Gamerficial for the latest news and updates.
