Lots of fans were excited by the announcement of the new game, after all it’s been over ten years since the last Skate game released and over thirteen years since the birth of the franchise. With this, fans have been interested to know which developer would be developing the game, the first three games were developed by EA Black Box, but the studio went defunct in 2013 and no longer exists.

The new developemtn studio, Full Circle, have been tasked with bringing the currently untitled Skate game to life, many assume this untitled game will be Skate 4, but at the moment this is purely speculation.

Details about this new studio are scarce, we do know that the studio is being lead by Daniel McCulloch the former Head of Xbox Live at Microsoft, with Deran Chung and Cuz Parry, two people who had a major creative role on the previous Skate games.

Skate 3 was the last entry into the franchise all the way back in 2010

Full Circle will be based in Vancouver, but team members will be working from all around the world, EA have offices in Orlando, Pasadena, Redwood City, Seattle, Playa Vista, and Austin.

Whatever the team is working on is being kept under tight wraps for now, and EA didn’t reveal any information about the new Skate game when they announced the new studio, but a tweet from the official EA account reads: “Hi! Yes, we’re still working on the next Skate and we officially formed a studio to prove it!”

The only thing we do know about the game is that it will be “the next evolution of Skate” and that it will also “embrace and build upon everything our community found special about the previous games,” which if you ask me, is just a lot of marketing buzzwords.

The game was announced in June 2020 at EA Play, which is EA’s own take on E3. They announced the game as a “one more thing” at the end, but didn’t give any details about it at the time.

Let’s hope it’s sooner rather than later before they release more details.
