EA Confirms They Are Working On A Lord Of The Rings RPG Game

Melika ZaidiBy Melika ZaidiMay 14, 2022

EA once had a series of very successful Lord Of The Rings games, their series of game with the same names as the films were a huge hit with fans back in 2002 and 2003. There was even a few RTS games released at the same time that were also hugely popular. Then all of a sudden EA stopped making Lord Of The Rings games.

Now the team have managed to get themselves the license to make a brand new title for the series which will be named, The Lord Of The Rings: Heroes Of Middle-Earth.

EA have described the title as a “collectible role-playing game” along with a “strategic, social-competitive experience”. It is likely that the title will be created with a heavy focus on multiplayer and may possibly be free-to-play.

The title will also include a host of iconic characters from the franchise, from what we have heard so far, it seems that the game will be focussing more on the original books rather than what we have seen in the movies.

Currently, there has been no gameplay footage or trailers revealed although a beta version is likely to launch later this year.
