Fans were quick to notice there was one important feature missing from the Battlefield 2042 trailer, however DICE have confirmed that naval combat will return in the title.

The Battlefield franchise has always been famous for it battles between air, land and sea, naval vehicles have always played a huge part in the series and the actual gameplay of Battlefield.

Since the reveal of the Battlefield 2042 trailer, some fans were concerned that the naval aspect of the battles was missing from the upcoming game entirely, throughout the trailer there were no naval vehicles or vessels of any type in sight.
However, DICE design director, Daniel Berlin has since confirmed that naval combat will in fact be returning and will feature in this years Battlefield 2042 title.

Berlin discussed what can be expected from the ‘All-Out Warfare’ mode in a recent interview that was featured in the Xbox Games Showcase.
“This is the place you go in 2042 when you want to have those classic Battlefield experiences. There is a massive war where there’s air, land and sea just coming together in these massive battles”.
This comes as good news to fans who were worried that this aspect of the game would not be featured.

Looking at the games maps, it would be likely that the naval combat would make an appearance in Breakaway and Manifest although some of the maps are quite small there is still the potential for boats to patrol the area.
No matter where this comes into play in the game, at least we know it will be featured in the upcoming title.
