DICE have revealed that Battlefield 2042 won’t launch with it’s much anticipated ranked mode, but they did explain why.

Battlefield 2042 looks like it is set to include an abundance of content at launch for players to sink their teeth into. The title is set to include seven brand new maps alongside the new sandbox Portal mode which will give players the opportunity to build their own games using elements from past titles in the series.
Fans certainly have a lot to look forward to when the game launches, however it was recently confirmed by DICE that the title will not feature a ranked mode at launch.

Players who enjoy the competitive side of video games are feeling disappointed as they had hopes to take on competitors from the very beginning.
Although it isn’t all bad news, this will give players time to prepare and see how a ranked mode would fit in with the game.

Players will have time to practise and get to grips with the game, the title is offering a lot of new mechanic and new systems so it could take a while for players to full get in the swing of things.
This will give players the time they need to figure out the best attachments and perfect their setup along with mastering the game before a ranked mode is added.
If a ranked mode is eventually added players will have had time to figure out the best setups for different vehicles in the game for tanks and jets along with working out the best weapon builds.
Players will also be able to use this time to locate the best power positions across the maps along with spawn points.

Not only this but players will need to figure out the titles new Specialists along with the robot dogs in order to fully benefit in a ranked match.
Although it is entirely possible that the title may not even need a ranked mode as previous entries in the series such as Battlefield 3 and Battlefield 4 did not prioritise a ranked mode.
Either way, there will be plenty for players to sink their teeth off with or without a ranked mode, it looks like we will just have to hang on and see what is in store for the future of Battlefield 2042.
