A restricted area was found by players in Destiny 2 and after managing to glitch their way in, they discovered some secret destructible environments.
This isn’t the first time Destiny players have glitched into sealed off areas and found secret content being tested by Bungie. Destiny 1 and Destiny 2 both featured these zones filled with content the developers were trying to keep hidden.
Most people like to avoid any spoilers that could ruin the game or story for them but others spend their time looking for these hidden parts of the game. Time well spent as it has now shown a huge update could be coming to the game.
Well known Destiny glitcher ‘JB3’ was able to glitch his way into a restricted area in the EDZ and has discovered what looks like a testing area Bungie have been using for a brand new mechanic.
The video shows JB3 exploring the hidden location which him and his friends were able to glitch into. It’s located in Quarantine Zone 236, part of the EDZ which has been used in some story missions but is mostly sealed off to players.
Bungie have used this area in the past for testing and it’s clear that is still happening as JB3 discovers some unused character models in the terrain. He also noticed that using his characters melee ability was able to destroy trees, causing the branches to shatter and he was even ale to knock some of them over completely.
While the effect is only shown on trees at the moment, players are speculating that it could roll out to all worlds and environments in a new update. Dynamic weather patterns were added to the game in the Beyond Light update and the devs are teasing what fans believe to be the Swamps of Old Chicago coming in 2022’s Witch Queen expansion.
