Dead Space Remake Could Include Content That Was Cut From The Original Game

Melika ZaidiBy Melika ZaidiJuly 28, 2021

Motive’s upcoming Dead Space remake will include content that was cut from the original game.

Creative Director Roman Campos-Oriola was recently interviewed by IGN and it appears that the original developer for the title, Visceral Games had needed to make some changes to the games original plans.

These changes were said to be due to “technical constraints”, however it now seems that the Motive team will be taking some of the original designs and ideas and including them in the remake.

This will hopefully give us some insight into the games initial plans before changes were made and gave fans some insight into content that didn’t quite make it into the final game.

Campos-Oriola said “What’s funny is that you can see some of the iterations that were made prior to ship by the team. In the first chapter, you can see some corridors that they wanted to do first in a certain way, and then you can understand why they changed it for technical constraints”.

This remake had been rumoured for quite some time before the it was eventually revealed. Although there are still no exact details that delve further into the upcoming title and no concrete release date, the sci-fi horror title is said to be coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S and PC.

This remake will be created using Frostbite engine and EA have already said it will increase “the level of horror and immersion to unprecedented heights…through stunning visuals, audio and controls”.

After we saw the original title launch all the way back in 2008, it took players on a journey as they took on the role of Isaac Clarke as he journeyed through a horror filled mining ship.

The remake is also set to feature a host of improved game mechanics as well as characters and also an improved story. We don’t know much more just yet but it definitely sounds like something we should be looking forward too.
