Dead by Daylight’s developer, Behaviour Interactive, has unveiled its highly anticipated collaboration with the Alien franchise. Slated for an August 29th release, the Dead by Daylight: Alien DLC will be accessible on a range of platforms including PS5, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Switch, and various PC stores like Steam, the Epic Games Store, and the Windows Store.
Dead by Daylight fans can now look forward to playing as Sigourney Weaver’s iconic action hero, Ellen Ripley, as a Survivor, and will have the chilling opportunity to battle against the terrifying Xenomorph as a Killer.
The Xenomorph introduces a whole new level of terror with its distinctive abilities:
- Runner Mode: This innovative mode allows the Xenomorph to prowl on all fours, reducing its detection range or Terror Radius significantly, adding a new element of stealth and surprise.
- Exclusive Sub-level: An additional gameplay feature unique to the Xenomorph is a special sub-level, consisting of a network of tunnels. These are connected by seven Control Stations, enhancing the gameplay by providing new strategies and escape routes.
The collaboration also introduces the Nostromo Wreckage, a new map that captures the legendary ship from the Alien film with distinctive Dead by Daylight twists. The map promises to provide players with a nostalgic yet fresh gaming experience.
The collaboration adds depth to gameplay with Ripley’s specialized perks, including “Lucky Star,” which suppresses signs of pain and bleeding for a brief time while hiding; “Light Footed,” silencing running noises when the character is healthy; and “Chemical Trap,” a strategic ability allowing pallets to be rigged with traps based on generator progression.
To add further intrigue to the battle between Survivor and Killer, Control Stations will now house Remote Flame Turrets that can be deployed by Survivors to hinder the Xenomorph. These new additions to gameplay require strategic use as they can overheat or be destroyed by the Xenomorph if not adequately protected.
