It seems that gamers could be getting their hands on a brand new Need for Speed title in the latter part of this year according to well known leaker Tom Henderson. Fans have been waiting eagerly as the latest instalment in the series was announced back in 2020 and was scheduled to release last year but was unfortunately delayed.
The delay occurred as developer Criterion was roped into assisting with some issues regarding Battlefield 2042 (great job guys), but now it seems that it’s back to business for the new title.

The game had an expected release widow of March 2023, however it looks as if we could be seeing it arrive sooner rather than later. Henderson took to Twitter with claims that we may be seeing the title release before the end of the year.
The post read “EA is expecting Need for Speed by Criterion Games to release in September/October 2022. Need for Speed development had to be paused in summer 2021 as Criterion Games needed to help with the development of Battlefield 2042.”

So, it could be that fans who have been eager to get a slice of the racing action, may not have too much longer to wait.

Henderson has also predicted that Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order 2 is likely to launch at the same time alongside Need for Speed.
