Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is set to be one of the biggest and most visually pleasing of the series thanks to the upcoming Xbox Series X and Playstation 5.
The news comes straight from Venture Beat, where Dan Bunting the co-studio head at Treyarch confirmed just how smoothly Black ops Cold War will run on next-gen consoles.
“We want to make sure the frame-rate is responsive, and that it feels like there’s nothing on the technical side preventing you from having a good time.” Bunting told Venture Beat.
This means Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is the second confirmed title to run at 120fps on Playstation 5, with the other being Dirt 5.
Black Ops Cold War was finally announced to the world earlier this week, initially with a teaser trailer, a full trailer and then finally a cinematic shared during the opening night of Gamescom 2020.
The last Treyarch made game was released without a single player campaign, only with multiplayer and Blackout, but it has been confirmed that Cold War will be releasing with a campaign mode alongside a multiplayer mode. You’ll be chasing down a mysterious character named Persues, who’s set to change the course of history. Cold War will be a direct sequel to the very first Black Ops game.
Treyarch promises a thrilling campaign with a lot of dark themes like Modern Warfare 2019. Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is due to release on Playstation 4, Xbox One, and PC on November 13 2020. Next-gen versions of the game will presumably be announced after the consoles themselves get launch dates.
