Call of Duty is without a doubt one of the most iconic video game franchises around, one fan of the popular series has been left in a sticky situation after being banned from the game for 10 years.
After spending over £4000 on the game, one player has taken to Reddit to share his story on how he was banned from playing for 10 years. He claims he received the ban after moving from Pakistan to Australia.
After moving halfway around the world, the Call of Duty: Mobile player found his account was blocked. The free-to-play game for iOS and Android makes money by selling cosmetic bundles. The gamer explained in a post on Reddit that when he went to play the game after moving country, he was swiftly issued with a ten minute ban.
At first he didn’t think anything of it as it was only ten minutes, but not long after he was banned again, this time for one hour, and then later his account was finally handed a ban lasting a whopping ten years.
Bronac1234 took to Reddit to seek help with his situation, in a post simply titled “Country Problem.”
In his post he explained the situation: “”So I used to live in Pakistan and I started playing codm then. And then when I recently moved to Australia, I started playing again.
“However, yesterday I received a 10 minute ban but I didn’t think much of it as it was only 10 mins.
“When I hopped on today, I got banned again for one hour. I have no idea why this is happening.
“I am not using any third party apps or hacks or anything like that.
“My other account which I registered in Australia is working fine.
“So I think this could be because the game detects I am using a VPN since the other account was registered in Pakistan.”
He went on to add: “I have spent over $6000 on this account and do not want anything to happen to it. I am afraid to log on this account, because I don’t want anymore bans Please help”.
