It was recently revealed in an EA earnings call that Battlefield 6 will be both a next-gen and current title.
As more and more information about Battlefield 6 is revealed, the anticipation around the long awaited title continues to grow. The colossal announcement regarding the first-person shooter has confirmed that Battlefield 6 will be officially revealed in June this year.
If that wasn’t enough, EA and DICE have also revealed that the upcoming Battlefield title will be releasing on current consoles such as PS4 and Xbox One along with next-gen consoles PS5, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S.
There has been a number of rumours circulation over the past few months, with may suggesting that the title would actually be exclusive to PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. This would mean that it would not release on current consoles PS4 and Xbox One, however a recent earnings call has blew these rumours out of the water.
EA and DICE have confirmed that the upcoming Battlefield title will indeed take full advantage of next-gen consoles and their new features as well as releasing on current consoles too.
EA CFO Blake Jorgensen said that the new Battlefield title will be “great on either console”.
They also touched on the idea of next-gen versions of the gaming having extra features as opposed to the current console versions, Jorgensen said that it will feel “special”.
Could it be that we see the next-gen versions come with their own game modes, mechanic or special features?
Overall, it could simply be that these next-gen version will just run better and look better while playing.
There are still so many exciting paths that this title could take in order to mix things up, but at least we won’t have to much longer to wait with the game being fully revealed in June.
