DICE has confirmed that fans can expect the return of some iconic maps in Battlefield 2042.

During the EA Play Future of First-Person Shooters stream, it was revealed by DICE that the upcoming Battlefield 2042 title will feature some returning fan favourite maps
Ripple Effect Studios’ general manager, Christian Grass teased the new mode that is currently being worked on by the team.
“So I can’t say that much about it, but what I can say is that one of the components in this experience that we are creating is that we are adding some of the fan favorite maps back into Battlefield 2042, but the entire experience you’ll have to wait a bit longer before we reveal”.
We have already heard copious rumours from leakers that there will be a ‘Battlefield Hub’ in which players will be able to access a host of maps, weapons and much more from previous titles in the franchise.

Fans have already been questioning if this means we will see the likes of Operation Locker, Wake Island or Operation Metro make their way into the game.
Currently, there has only been seven maps in total confirmed to be available from launch.

Throughout the games life regular updates with older classic maps making their way back is a sure way to mix things up and keep the game fresh.
Although we can’t say for sure just yet exactly what they will be, it won’t be too much longer until we find out.
