After countless rumours that the upcoming Battlefield 2042 title would not be getting a battle royale mode, it has now been revealed by the games developers that one is on the way.
The recent EA Play Live presentation delved into a host of existing EA games and one being Battlefield 2042.
Fans have been waiting for the new title for quite some time, after many rumours and leaks suggesting the game would not feature a battle royale mode, fans were left concerned as to whether this would prove to be correct or not.
Many fans are hoping the game will have a battle royale mode, where as many are keeping their fingers crossed that one will not be included in the title.
Since then the games developers have offered fans more information on the games battle royale mode, and it’s not quite what we were expecting.
The new mode is said to differ quite drastically from the battle royale modes we are used to and have seen in other big titles, it is an interesting choice to brand this mode as a battle royale as it was originally dubbed a “high stakes, squad-based game mode” by Oskar Gabrielson the General Manager of DICE.
The new addition which has been named ‘Hazard Zone’ will not be a classic battle royale experience, Gabrielson said:
“It’s a really contemporary mode. It’s also something the team has been thinking about for many years – we’re really looking forward to showing it to the world. It has some really special components, and it really kind of leans into the superpowers of Battlefield and DICE at the same time”.

Of course nothing further was really revealed about the upcoming mode apart from the promise that we will get a good look at it before the games official release.
It is definitely something to think about and will hopefully shake up the game and help keep things fresh.
