Battlefield 2042 is implementing something new into the title, here is everything you need to know about the new specialist system.

The reveal trailer for the much anticipated Battlefield 2042 trailer has already got fans amped up for the titles release, with its action packed adventures and cinematic gameplay, it looks as if it will be a popular hit with fans already.

The near future setting of the title has opened the door to exciting new possibilities including new vehicles, weapons and combat, unlike anything we’ve seen before in the franchise.
There was one thing that stood out for fans, and that’s the new Specialist system, which will see the removal of the older established squad role system.

Here is everything we know about the new system so far.
DICE and EA have explained that the specialists that can be seen throughout different clips are named ‘No-Pats’ who are citizens that have been brought in yet they hold no allegiance with the government.
It is unclear if there will be a specific way to tell enemy Specialists away from friendly Specialists, although it has been revealed that the title will include a series of skills for each character.

Each specialist will also have their own tactical ability along with a unique visual appearance, these abilities will be categorised into Specialities and Traits.
Specialities will be a physical device that players can use to get an advantage in-game, whereas Traits will be the Specialists abilities.

There will be ten Specialists available in the game at launch, with four new Specialists to appear post-launch within the games seasons.
Players have already been introduced to six of these Specialists so far, whereas the rest remain a mystery for now.
Each of the Specialists will come with their own gadgets although they will all have one free slot for equipments, players will also be able to add further customisation by equipping any weapon regardless of Specialist or class.
