Respawn Entertainment recently confirmed that a private lobby feature is currently in development.
Since the release of Apex Legends two years ago, the title has gone from strength to strength to become one of the most played battle royale games worldwide. Despite its popularity, there are still some features that fans are crying out for.
One of the most sought after features being asked for is private matches, a mode already featured in most online multiplayer games. It seems that Respawn have made the decision to finally add them to the game, although we don’t know for sure just when it will be added.

Respawn Game Director Chad Grenier recently gave the scoop on the upcoming feature in an interview with BrownGirlGamerCode. He mentioned that private matches have already been put into place behind the scenes as Respawn can tap into this feature for events and tournaments.
He also went on to say that they are currently developing this feature to be available for the public as soon as possible, although there is no official timeline at the moment.

The current private mode which Respawn use behind the scenes is only intended to be used on a smaller scale, and it needs some tweaks before it can be used by the public on a wider scale.
Hopefully when these private lobbies are ready they will even support matches across different platforms giving players the opportunity to battle with all their friends whether they be a PC user, PlayStation or Xbox.

Fans are eager to know just when they will be able to take advantage of this upcoming feature, however with no official confirmation on a date as of yet players will have to hang on just that little bit longer, hopefully we see this addition sooner rather than later.
