Players have always wondered if it was indeed possible to bury 99k bells and if the tree would actually grow, well finally we have investigated and we have the answer.
It is a well know feature in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, upon seeing a glowing crack in the ground, if players are to dig this up they will find 1,000 bells. After doing this, if they pant 10k bells in the hole the tree will grow with 3 bags of 10k bells growing.

If a player shakes the tree the bells will drop and they will be able to put away the 30k bells. However it is an age old question, can we actually bury more that 10k?

Players have tried only to find that no more than 30k will actually grow in the tree, however we have found the secret which allows you to grow a total of 297k bells!
In order to do this, you must listen very carefully to Isabelle’s morning announcement, when she reports that she has had a ‘lucky horoscope day’ signals the day to bury 99k.

On this day, search your island for that glowing crack in the ground, dig up the 1000 bells and bury 99k. When the tree is grown you will a find a totall of 297k has grown and can the be collected.
Of course it didn’t take long for players to find out this secret and start using it to make easy money. Fans have already took to social media to share their discoveries.

I must have been extremely lucky because I once planted 99k and just happened to get Isabelle’s horoscope announcement. I tried the trick again recently and wondered why I got a 30k return. Now I know, thanks for the tip!
