Rumours recently started circulating after eagle eyed fans had noticed an unusual home interior that doesn’t belong to any of the games current villagers.
An Animal Crossing: New Horizons fan had seemed to notice a villager home interior that doesn’t actually belong to any of the games current villagers.
The interior was first seen in an image shared by Nintendo when announcing the most recent Animal Crossing update, it showed a green themed home interior which has never been seen before in the game.
After noticing this detail fans were quick to thing this was a cryptic message indicating the game would be in receipt new villagers.
Reddit user ‘creamypockets’ took to the platform to share an image of the outside of the home saying “This house in the update teaser does not appear to match the houses of any of the existing 497 villagers in New Horizons. Does this mean were having another new villager?”
However, Nintendo have been quick to address players questions regarding additional villagers and confirm that unfortunately the house design does not feature in the game and have issued and apology for the misunderstanding.
This was confirmed in a blog post where Nintendo said that the items that were shown in the trailer were part of the upcoming Children’s Day. Sadly, we take this information as confirmed that there will be no new villagers, not yet anyway.
This news will come as a disappointment to players who were excited at the premise of fresh meat on their islands and had already started saving up their Nook Mile Tickets.
Who knows what the future holds, maybe we will see the addition arrive some time in the future?
