With a big download size, comes some big changes.
Warzone and Modern Warfares season 5 drops tomorrow, and lots of changes are expected. Including changes to Verdansk, new multiplayer maps, new operators and new weapons.
Warzone Map Changes:
The trailer for season 5 shows one of Shadow Company blowing the roof off the stadium. Revealing the interior of the stadium which can now be accessed.
A train can also be seen in the trailer adding a completely new dynamic to the game. It looks like it will allow faster travel around the map and gunfights on top of a moving freight train sound like fun.
Both of these have been rumoured for a few weeks now but something we didn’t see coming was zip-lines. Zip-lines appear to have been added to skyscrapers allowing players to move from ground to rooftop quickly. So don’t get too comfortable sitting on a rooftop for too long.
New Multiplayer Maps
Four new multiplayer maps are coming to season 5:
- Suldal Harbor (6v6)
- Petrov Oil Rig (6v6)
- Verdansk Intl. Ariport (Ground War)
- Livestock (Gunfight)
New Operators
Three new operators are being added in this season. All three of them coming from Shadow Company, a rogue faction of mercenaries who “operate outside the boundaries of the original Armistice.” the press release from Infinity Ward says the group were introduced to shake up the dynamics of Verdansk. And after seeing them blow the roof off the stadium in the trailer, its obvious thats exactly what they’re doing.
- Marcus “Lerch” Ortega
- Velikan
- Rozlin “Roze” Helms
New Weapons
New seasons usually bring along with them two new weapons, this season is no different. There has been no official announcement from Infinity Ward about which two weapons are coming, but eagle eyed fans have spotter two guns in the trailer which aren’t already in the game.
- AN-94 AR
- ACP-9 SMG
It’s likely the names of these will be different in game but it follows the other seasons pattern of showing the newly released weapons in the trailer.
