Of course aim assist is only advantageous when used correctly and unfortunately won’t undo any bad decisions. Call of Duty content creator JGOD has even pointed out how players using controllers have a fairly big advantage that players who are using PC.
The revelation came when the YouTube was under the effects of a stun grenade but found that he could still easily lock onto his target without much effort using controller aim assist.

Players using keyboard and mouse controls unfortunately do no get the same advantage, actually JGOD found he has to struggle in order to successfully track his target.

“This isn’t really fair, this is a mechanic where I think [controller] is actually broken with aim assist. I don’t think controllers should get any aim assist when you get stunned”.
Controllers give players the ability to accelerate much faster while under the influence of a stun grenade which gives these players a significant advantage over PC players as it is much easier to counter the stun grenade slow.
