Activision Confirms Call of Duty 2021 Release

As speculation has recently started circling the release date of Call of Duty 2021, the wait is now over as Activision have confirmed an official release.

The Call of Duty franchise has had a copious amount of success over the years, with fans waiting eagerly more the next instalment in the series just months after the last release.

It was recently discussed in Blizzard’s Q4 2020 earnings call by Activision CFO Dennis Durkin just what will be in store for the future of Call of Duty.

Activision have confirmed there is a new game that will be arriving later this year, the games tend to usually launch around October time so it’s likely that we see the games release around that time towards the end of the year.

Of course, Activision remained tight lipped regarding further details of the 2021 release, currently we are still in the dark about what the games content will be like or who is actually behind the development of the game.

However, the rotation since 2013 has been that Sledgehammer Games, Treyarch and Infinity Ward take turns in development of the latest title, that was until 2020 when Treyarch took to developing the game two years in a row.

Activision did not reveal any further details of the upcoming game.

Call of Duty saw in its best year yet in 2020 with over 250 millions players which is a huge jump in comparison to the 48 million it had in 2018.
