The Call of Duty franchise has been struggling to maintain its once loyal fanbase these past few years, it seems like players are getting sick of being sold the same thing year after year. Despite this, Call of Duty games continue to top the charts year after year as one of the most sold games.
Even Warzone is going through some pretty big struggles right now with players complaining about low effort events, especially with the current Project Monarch which is just a glorified advert for Godzilla vs Kong.
At least fans have Modern Warfare II to look forward to later this year.
Thats not all fans have in store for them, a new blog post from the Call of Duty team announced that a brand new mobile game is in the works, currently named Project Aurora.
According to reports, the game seems to be in early development with first gameplay tests taking place as well as a closed Alpha.
The post reads “Our mission with Project Aurora, the codename for our new mobile title, is to bring friends, families, and people around the world together in a global community of diverse players with a fast-paced, precise, and high-quality Battle Royale action experience that delivers a fresh new way to play”.
The name of this project has left fans wondering if this could be a mobile port or something similar to the Warzone formula.
It is currently unclear just what we can expect from the game at present it looks like we will have to wait this one out and hope for further information on the title to be revealed.
