A Staggering Number Of Warzone Cheaters Have Been Banned, But Is It Enough?

Melika ZaidiBy Melika ZaidiMarch 26, 2021

Raven Software have ramped up their efforts to tackle cheaters in Warzone, but is it enough when accounts are free to create?

Time and time again we cover stories about how bad the cheating situation in Warzone is, we’ve even seen some of Warzones biggest content creators leave the game because of the issue.

The popular battle royale title doesn’t currently have anti-cheat software which would enable cheaters accounts to be hit with an on the spot ban, meaning players must rely on Raven Software taking action against cheaters.

Ban waves can be issues at any time and each time they seem to effect a different amount of players. We have seen some waves which have disabled thousands of cheater accounts, whereas some have only managed to reach very few in comparison.

The questions fans want to know is, just how many accounts are actually being banned?

The official Call of Duty Twitter account recently posted that yet another ban wave had been issued and taking down a considerable amount of cheater accounts.

The Tweet read “We have zero tolerance for cheaters across Call of Duty and Warzone. 60,000+ accounts have been banned today. Follow @RavenSoftware for more #Warzone updates.”

It was revealed that a mighty 60,000 accounts were banned from the game at one time according to a blog post published on the Call of Duty website. We have also seen ban waves take down over 300,000 accounts, some of the biggest in Warzone’s history.

Since then, ban waves have been issued more frequently and consistently, so far a total of five updates have been supplied in the first quarter of this year. Although, we don’t have exact details on these updates, based on recent bans it’s fairly easy to estimate figures.

There has been a series of recent bans that have been somewhat smaller than bans that we have seen before, although they didn’t reveal precise figures its easy to come to the conclusion that those that took place throughout February and March reached around four figures.

Warzone must be somewhere around the 400,000 mark as another recent ban wave took place that affected over 13,000 accounts.
