Of course this is all just speculation, however it could line up with the major television show bases on the car combat franchise that Sony has planned, the company have said previously that they also want to make more multiplayer games.

‘Shpeshal_Nick’ also took to Twitter to say “You know what? Screw it. I’ll risk pissing someone off. Don’t wanna get scooped again. Been told Wipeout is coming back. Planned to be a VR2/PS5 title. Most likely an XDEV project. Still early in the project.”

So, it seems that the rumour mill is also churning out speculation that there could potentially be a new wipeout game.

Claims had previously came from Xbox Era host Nick Bakar, who has claimed that the franchise will make a return, not only this but it is expected to feature full support for Sony’s next-gen PSVR headset.

Of course we must take all of this information with a pinch of salt as it is merely speculation at the moment.
