Salvation Denied Revealed as Physics Driven Co-op Building Game with Instant Steam Playtest

Developer Firevolt and publisher Digital Vortex Entertainment have officially announced Salvation Denied, a physics-based co-op building simulator that is set to launch on PC in Fall 2026. A limited-time open playtest is now live on Steam, giving players an early look at the game’s core mechanics.

Salvation Denied is set on a hostile alien planet where players control a team of small construction robots tasked with completing complex and unstable building projects. The game focuses on physics-driven gameplay rather than traditional construction systems, with every structure reacting dynamically to weight, balance, and movement.

According to the developers, the experience is designed around unpredictability. Structures can collapse in real time if they are poorly supported or if players fail to coordinate effectively. This creates a gameplay loop centered on experimentation, problem-solving, and adapting to unexpected outcomes.

Players have access to a range of tools and vehicles designed to manage construction and recovery. These include gravity and foam-based devices for stabilizing structures, as well as larger machines such as the Fatboy, a hybrid vehicle capable of recycling debris or dismantling builds. Another tool, the Gravity Tank, allows players to reposition large sections of a structure during construction.

Environmental challenges also play a key role. Players must defend their builds against events referred to as Cataclysms, including meteor showers that can damage structures and force immediate repairs.

The game supports both solo play and cooperative multiplayer for up to four players. It also includes features such as proximity voice chat and a system that allows players to physically reposition teammates, adding an additional layer of interaction during gameplay.

The open playtest began on March 25 and will run for one week. Salvation Denied is currently scheduled to release on PC via Steam in Fall 2026, with console versions for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S planned for 2027.
