Brick-building fans and retro gamers may soon have a new centerpiece for their collections. According to recent leaks, LEGO and Sony are reportedly collaborating on an official building set modeled after the original 1994 PlayStation (PS1) console.
The rumored set is expected to hit shelves during the Holiday 2026 season with a price tag of $160.
According to industry insiders, the kit will consist of 1,911 pieces, making it a slightly more compact build than previous LEGO gaming icons like the Nintendo Entertainment System and the Atari 2600. Despite the lower piece count, the set is expected to include a high level of detail, featuring the console’s iconic grey chassis, top-loading disc tray, and at least one replica of the original “digital” controller (pre-dating the DualShock era).
While $160 is a significant investment—notably higher than the $100 price tag of the 2018 PlayStation Classic mini-console—the set aims to capture the nostalgia of the 32-bit era that defined a generation of gaming.
This partnership follows Sony’s deepening relationship with the LEGO Group, which recently saw the release of LEGO Horizon Adventures. While neither Sony nor LEGO has officially confirmed the project, the “leaked” specifications suggest a premium addition to LEGO’s growing line of adult-focused “Icons” sets.
