Fans Rage As EA Servers Go Down, Making Even Single-Player Games Unplayable

Alex KirtonMay 5, 20230

Could there be a more frustrating experience than game servers crashing during an intense gaming session? In the past, when faced with such issues, we’d simply turn to single-player games to keep us entertained until the servers were back up and running. Unfortunately, this workaround may no longer be a viable option, as it appears that even launching games now requires a persistent online connection.

In a series of tweets that flooded the gaming community last night, players reported their inability to load any single-player EA games, citing the company’s servers being down as the root of the problem.

One user, @OPaiTio, even mentioned the financial implications of this issue, stating, “In the same boat, had just paid for Play Pro, and I’m probably hopping on a refund soon.” This highlights the fact that gamers are not only annoyed by the inconvenience, but also feel cheated out of their money due to the unavailability of the games they paid for.

However, the gaming community can breathe a sigh of relief, as there have been no new reports of this issue on Twitter for several hours. It seems that EA has managed to resolve the problem, much to the delight of affected players.

Despite the apparent resolution, EA has yet to respond to the matter publicly. This silence has left the gaming community to speculate on the cause of the server issues, with many wondering if this is an isolated incident or a sign of deeper problems within the company.

The timing of this issue couldn’t be worse, as Star Wars Jedi: Survivor was released just last week. With the game already amassing a large player base, there’s no doubt that a significant number of people have been affected by the server downtime.

It would be reassuring to think that this is the end of the story, and that players can now enjoy their favourite EA games without any further hiccups. But as history has shown us, we can never be too sure. One thing is certain, though: the gaming community will be keeping a watchful eye on EA, eagerly awaiting a response, and hoping that this incident doesn’t become a recurring problem.
