A number of gameplay elements for Dead Island 2 have been revealed by the developers, it’s been a hot minute but Dead Island is back and it sees that some fan favourite features will be returning too.
As we draw closer to the game’s release, more and more details are coming to light and in a recent interview with VG247 it was revealed which features would be returning.
It has been confirmed by the developers that the classic weapon degradation and durability mechanic will be returning to the game, this will allow players to use their weapon for a specific amount of time before it breaks.
Adam Duckett, Dambuster Studios design director said in a recent interview “Ranged weapons have ammo, so melee weapons have degradation”.
He followed on to say “We’re generous with it; we want players to explore the full arsenal of weapons—so we have so many great mods, and so many perks, and so many other things in this game that we want players to cycle through. It also helps that players can keep a wide variety of tools in their arsenal, so they’re never going to be without something they can use”.
Dead Island 2 is scheduled to release on February 3, 2023 on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, and PC.
