Tom Howard has recently confirmed to IGN that Fallout 5 will be the next game from Bethesda Game Studios following the release of The Elder Scrolls 6 which will come after 2023’s Starfield launch.
Howard spoke out to IGN recently regarding Starfield’s gameplay reveal at the weekends Xbox and Bethesda showcase, he then went into detail about what fans can expect once the title has been launched.
“Yes, Elder Scrolls 6 is in pre-production and, you know, we’re going to be doing Fallout 5 after that, so our slate’s pretty full going forward for a while. We have some other projects that we look at from time to time as well.”
“Fallout’s really part of our DNA here. We’ve worked with other [developers] from time to time – I can’t say say what’s gonna happen. You know, we have a one-pager on Fallout 5, what we want to do.”

Although, it could still be quite some time before we see Fallout 5 actually release given Bethesda’s current rate of production.
Howard confirmed that the team began working on Starfield at the end of 2015 which means it has taken over 7 years to complete the game.
The last Skyrim release we saw release was back in 2011 and the sequel still remains in pre-production so it could be some time before we see that release also.
Howard followed up by saying “They do take a while, I wish they came out faster, I really do, we’re trying as hard as we can, but we want them to be as best as they can be for everybody.”
