Rick and Morty fans will be pleased to know that a brand new title is on the way from co-creator Justin Roiland as he recently announced a new game named High on Life is currently on the way.
The game is being developed by Squanch Games, a studio he helped create and is scheduled to launch this year in 2022.
A trailer was released from the developers at the Xbox and Bethesda Games showcase on Sunday and it was revealed it is being developed for Windows PC, Xbox One as well as Xbox Series X.
High on Life will give players the ability to play with talking guns that each possess their own personalities and attributes as well as “provide their own narrative take on what’s going on”.
“Bounty hunters will travel between planets during their adventure, visiting memorable locations like a dense and dangerous jungle, a city built deep inside an asteroid, and a variety of other dynamic and changing worlds. Players will run into dangerous local wildlife, help (or help) a bunch of alien weirdos, and test their mettle against a variety of Hunter Challenges. And you’ll never be alone because your guns talk!”
Roiland said in a recent press release “I wanted to make games that I wanted to play, and that was the spark that sort of lit the fire of Squanch Games”.
He followed up by saying “Then we shipped Trover, we shipped Accounting+, and now we’re on this absolute dream game that we were kind of building towards this whole time.”
From what we know so far, it looks as if the game will focus heavily on exploration and the different guns.
