The much anticipated WW2 RTS sequel, Company of Heroes 3 has been four years in development already, so it’s no surprised players were delighted when it was announced last month.

There is still a lot for players to learn about the upcoming title, Company Of Heroes 3 however it seems developers Relic Entertainment have revealed more information.
The latest blog post from the team reveals how players will experience the narrative of the game, apparently at the beginning of the game players will be throw into a “a cold open mission”.

This will act as a tutorial for players to get a handle on the game and introduce them to the campaign.
Relic have said that the towards the end of the campaign players will encounter a “historically authentic ending of the Italy campaign”, while the narrative of the game will change in turn with players actions and decisions.
The game however, actually will have a set beginning and end but will feature a host of different endings in the game before players make it to the outro.
These choices will present themselves to gamers during the strategic gameplay, the campaign itself will include Narrative Anchors which will be story moments that suddenly become visible on the map.

However these anchors will appear differently depending on the players relationship with specific characters.
Players will also raise and lower their standing with the commanders depending on which missions they decide to take.
This sort of narrative is similar to what we have seen in other titles such as Deus Ex, The Witcher and Mass Effect.
The devs have also said that the team is “not going to be building a giant, Bioware style, branching narrative”.
