EA’s decision to create FIFA 22 for PC and last-gen consoles has not been well received.

FIFA fans have voiced concerns over EA’s decision to bring FIFA 22 to PC and last-gen consoles since it was confirmed earlier this week.
EA has stated that FIFA 22 will feature HyperMotion, which is currently only available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S and Stadia, which leaves players using PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC and Nintendo Switch out of the mix.
HyperMotion gameplay improves how players move during a match by usuing machine learning and 11v11 motion capture.

For those who don’t know here is a better explanation on just how it works.
- Motion Capture
“Xsens suits record every touch, tackle, sprint and duel from all 22 players playing at high intensity for the first time ever, capturing data that powers over 4000 new animations in FIFA 22 to raise the footballing intensity, responsiveness, and physicality of every player in the game”.

- Machine Learning
“A cutting-edge proprietary machine learning algorithm learns from over 8.7 million frames of advanced match capture, then writes new animations in real time to create organic football realism across a variety of interactions on the pitch”.
This has not sat well with fans as PS4 and Xbox One likely don’t have the power to support the gameplay tech included in FIFA 22.
Reddit user ‘Desmund977’ took to the platform to share their concerns about the choice.

“It is so disappointing. On pre order page you can see that description for PC is same as PS4 & xbox one, whereas PS5 description includes next-gen HyperMotion gameplay technology. Yeah its probably just a marketing gimmick but the fact that PC will have last gen again is unfair.”
Desmund followed on by saying highlighting the games descriptions across the different platforms.

We have seen PC versions of FIFA lag behind console versions in the past, that was until FIFA 15’s release, when EA Sports used the same elements that were present in the PS4 and Xbox One version of the game.
Will players have to wait until 2023 to see PC catch up to the console versions?
