It was recently revealed in an interview that there are over 25 new titles in the works at PlayStation Studios with over half of them being original IPs.
In recent years, the number of firms working under the PlayStation Studios umbrella has risen substantially. Many of its studios, such as Santa Monica Studios, Insomniac Games, and Naughty Dog, have produced some of the most well-received games and biggest titles of the previous two decades.

The head of Playstation Studios, Hermen Hulst revealed in a recent interview for the Playstation Blog, that currently there are a little over 25 games currently in development. If that wasn’t enough, he also revealed that more than half of those titles are brand new IPs.
In the interview, Hulst touched on one particular example being worked on in Bend Studios claiming that there is a new IP in the works that they are “very, very passionate about”.

Although he didn’t reveal any further details on the project, Bend Studios were the development team behind Days Gone so we can hope to see something special released from them in the near future.
Hulst has a boatload of experience creating new IPs under his belt, he has also been the head of PlayStation Studios since November of 2019 after working for many years as the managing director as Guerrilla Games.
Just after Hulst was appointed to this position at Playstation Studios, we saw the sequel to Horizon Zero Dawn be revealed along with Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart.

Hulst also confirmed Playstation Studios’ commitment to brand new IPs in the interview as more than half of 25 new games in development currently will be brand new IPs.
