Neil Druckmann has a plot for The Last of Us 3 however Naughty Dog are yet to start working on the title.
Fans of The Last of Us have been eagerly waiting for another instalment in the franchise, following the success of The Last of Us 2 which won over 300 Game of the Year Awards, a sequel seems like a right of passage.
Neil Druckmann, the director and co-writer of The Last of Us has confirmed that there is already plot ready for the upcoming title, however Naughty Dog are currently working on other projects and are yet to start production on the new game.
Druckmann also mentioned in the Script Apart podcast a third Last of Us game however didn’t give away any further details of what direction fans could expect the story take.
Could it be that we a continuation of Ellie’s story or will it be that they introduce a completely new protagonist?
He went on to confirm that Naughty Dog have not yet actually started making the game as of yet, he finished by saying that he has hopes that the title will happen one day and be able to explore what will happen after The Last of Us 2.
Although in the meantime there is still some exciting things that fans can look forward too, for example Naughty Dog is said to be working on The Last of Us 2’s multiplayer mode.
The multiplayer mode was initially set to be included however was removed so that the studio had a better chance to focus on the single player mode, although there has since been updates regarding the mode it may be that we won’t see it until 2022.
Rumours have also suggest that there is a remake of the game headed to Playstation 5, but this is yet to be officially confirmed. Fans will just have to hang on and see what is in store for the future of The Last of Us.
