A recent earning announcement revealed that the gaming giant is selling their console at a loss.
Despite the PlayStation 5 bringing in huge revenue for Sony, the console is allegedly being sold below the costs of manufacturing. A series of financial reports relating to the PS5 were covered in the company’s 2020 earnings announcement.

PS5 has overtaken sales of the PS4 during its first financial year, even though it has faced a series of supply shortages and seen a number of issues arise due to the ongoing pandemic.
Unfortunately for fans hoping to get their hands on the console it was announced by Sony’s CFO that the situation isn’t likely to improve anytime soon.
Hopefully these shortages will come to and end soon and eager fans will be able to bag themselves the sought after next gen console
If the console doesn’t fall back into regular supply it may struggle to reach PS4 sales milestones which consists of over 100 million units.
It may seem like an ambitious goal for the PS5 pass sales milestones of the PS4, hopefully its a sign that there could soon be a boost in stock of the PS5.
